Results for Assignment 2
Our numbers dwindled for this assignment. Even I didn't send one in. (horrible of me, I know) but thank you to the two who sent one in. Please leave feedback for them. Even if it doesn't pertain directly to the object of the assignment which was monochromatic.
I hope to see more participation for next week's assignment...I've already started mine.

I wanted to participate in this one, but I haven really worked with paints in this form before. With work and other hobbies it was a struggle to get it done. I actually bought the canvas, primed it and all, then changed my mind. I hope to get around to doing the next assignment.
I think both pieces are amazing. Using blue for 'homeless'...was that intentional? The blue gives the picture a depressed look which I'm sure homeless feel. I really felt something with this piece.
The colours of 'Cityscape' study' reminded me of home country, Austalia. It gave me feeling of dry weather and the hot sun.
Thanks.
Jason, I do hope you participate in the next one. You can use whatever medium you would like if you aren't comfortable using the suggested medium. I hope to see the next assignment from you.
Rett (do I still call you dad on here? :) I'd like to know what you intend on doing with this painting now. Will you leave it monochrome and sell it as is. Or will you add more to it? As always, I like your use of texture to create depth. My one suggestion is: The building on the left front draws too much attention away from the focal point of the street. Perhaps darkening it or making it tilt inward instead of outward (or straight up) would help draw more attention to the main focus which seems to be the buildings on the right and the street in front of them.
Haleigh, I agree with Jason. Your use of blue is very appropriate for the feel and title of your piece. I also like your use of darks against lights.
I have no idea what I am going to do with it. I just thought it would be fun to do the assignment and I do agree the building on the left should be cut out. If I continue painting on it I will probably take the table saw to the left side
